ITALY

Our favorite drive in the world (up until this week) was Chapmons Peak Drive near Cape Town, South Africa. The serpentine road clings to the cliffs of the Cape Penisula with mountains on the left and a sheer cliff on the right that drops hundreds of feet to Indian Ocean. I said, "up until this week" because Chapmons Peak Drive just got moved into second place. Heading up the list in the number one slot is now the Amalfi Coast in Italy. It has all the assets of the Cape Peninsula, but seems to be on steroids. It has at least five times the drama. Plus the added feature of Italian buildings and homes glued to the side of the mountain, and at times multiplying into quaint towns that could ony be found in Italy. We just spent a fabulous day with Wegners, winding our way along this coast. It is hard to take a bad picture. Just point and shoot.

We are on sensory overload. The day before, this was the view as we ate lunch on the Isle of Capri.
