TREKKING

Going on "trek." That is the quintessential word for missionary life. I grew up with the word. Dad did "it" as a missionary in Nigeria. It is part of South African history. It flavors my thoughts of Africa. It is "the" word of my life. Pack up your tent and join me!

Dad

Last night, my dad took his final trek. After 88 years of traveling this planet, he folded his tent for the final time. This is a picture of Dad in Nigeria, literally "on trek" as he moved from village to village in fulfillment of his mission in life. He passed away peacefully last night.... both in spirit and body. The name for my blog comes from his life and will continue to be a tribute to Dad.

I am sorry of his passing. Now he will see those that went ahead of him. My in-laws, F.A. and Amalia Lemke will greet him again; they started to support him in the 40's.

We will pray for his family to include his beloved wife who is left behind.
