NEW ZEALAND
Joan and I are wrapping up our visit to New Zealand. Went directly from the airport to a conference ground to meet with missionaries and will be heading right back to the airport after this concludes. So unfortunately, we won't see much of this wonderful country. The one bonus is that we are meeting at a conference center a block from the beach.
While this is an English speaking country, we are constantly reminded we "aren't in Kansas anymore." The accents are different. We drive on the other side of the road. And signs like this one remind us that the English here varies from what are familiar with. I assume "judder bars" mean there is a speed bump ahead.

On our way to this conference we passed through the town in New Zealnand where "Lord of the Rings" was filmed. This country is clean and green. Fabulous scenery and provided just what they wanted to make this film.
Our purpose for coming here was to speak at a conference for missionaries. I spoke 10 times on the topic of leadership. Joan spoke to the ladies. This has been a privilege to rub shoulders with missionaries and New Zealand pastors. This is not a place where there is a rapid response to the gospel. These folk have tremendous commitment and stamina. They stick with it even though there are not big results. But that is the history of missions… it takes a lot of sowing and patience before a harvest.
Tomorrow we had for home… this has been a three week trip and we are ready to be back in our own bed. Next week…. Board meeting in Atlanta.
