TREKKING

Going on "trek." That is the quintessential word for missionary life. I grew up with the word. Dad did "it" as a missionary in Nigeria. It is part of South African history. It flavors my thoughts of Africa. It is "the" word of my life. Pack up your tent and join me!

Joan and I just returned from a swing through Colorado, Wyoming and Utah. It was fun to be in so much snow. As a couple of “Africans” we haven’t seen much of the white stuff in our life. Living in Atlanta doesn’t bring much snow into our lives either. So it sure was good to experience a little winter. We were out west to speak in churches, visit a Bible college campus and meet with church planters in Utah from a variety of mission agencies to strategize for the future. The only downside of the trip was having my rental car vandalized in a church parking lot. They got off with my briefcase with laptop computer, camera and ipod. It was rather challenging to navigate without my “brain.” Fortunately, I had backed up my data before leaving the office for this trip.

We are home for a week, then off to Spain, France and Austria. Thanks so much for your prayers.
